Strong and Sexy

Recently debuted at the Geneva Motor Show, the McLaren 720S is about to make a splash in the luxury market. It has a sweet price tag of $285,000.

According to McLaren, the latest improvement to the much-lauded Super Series is not only lighter and faster but also more opulent than its predecessor.

Constructed of carbon fiber and lightweight aluminum, it’s clearly built for speed, but the fun doesn’t end there.

As representatives from McLaren point out, the car will induce an indescribable feeling by “[pushing] the limits of what you thought possible.”

The McLaren 720S is strong and speedy. Another apt description? Sexy. Its edgy details grant it an undeniably trendy vibe. This is the ultimate car for impressing your peers, your dates, and everybody else.

Exquisite Exterior Design

Drawing inspiration from the great white shark, designers hoped the McLaren 720S would embody both a luxurious and a fierce attitude. The end product clearly succeeds without ever losing function for the sake of form.

Sculpted exterior lines flow smoothly to minimize drag. Slim pillars enable an impressive glass canopy, which floods the vehicle’s interior with natural light.

One of the most notable aspects of the McLaren 720S exterior is the vehicle’s twin-hinged dihedral doors. Visually impressive and undeniably convenient, these iconic doors incorporate a portion of the vehicle’s roof. They allow for effortless entrances and exits while also ensuring a slim profile.

Several options allow you to add further personality and flair to this already sexy vehicle. For example, five-spoke forged wheels are available with Diamond Cut or Gunmetal finishes. Keep in mind, however, such adjustments can add to the McLaren 720S final price.

Built for Speed

While it’s great to catch eyes with a sculpted design, the true satisfaction of driving the McLaren 720S comes from its inherent speed and power. Every trip is an adventure.

The vehicle features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine (V8), which powers the rear wheels. Reaching an impressive 710 horsepower, the vehicle can blast from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a mere 2.7 seconds. Additionally, the car can reach a top speed of 212 miles per hour.

Carbon fiber keeps the car light — it weighs a mere 3,167 pounds. This is shockingly light even when compared to similar cars believed to have shed significant weight in recent years.

Drive for Power

Power is always desirable, but its power-to-weight ratio is even more noteworthy. With the McLaren 720S, you get the most power possible for the least weight.

Of course, power can be a problem if it doesn’t come with control. With the McLaren 720S, you get both. When you want to amp up the speed, you’re not limited to perfectly maintained stretches of road.

Test drivers have gleefully learned the car performs just as impressively in problem areas as it does in ideal road conditions. This is made possible via McLaren’s acclaimed Proactive Chassis Control II — the result of years of study at the University of Cambridge.

With this unique chassis system, a variety of sensors collect information on road conditions, all in the interest of determining which approach will maximize grip. The result? A unique combination of roll stiffness and vertical compliance.

With so much speed, braking is imperative. Although not quite as quick as some cars, braking on the McLaren 720S remains impressive.

The vehicle requires just 93 feet to make a full stop from 60 miles per hour. However, while the car can stop quickly, experts advise braking early, purely because its speedy nature entices drivers to operate it well over 70 mph.

Interior Luxury

No matter your intended speed, every moment within your vehicle should be swanky yet comfortable.

Luxury epitomizes the cabin of the McLaren 720S, where no detail is spared. Sumptuous leather is present throughout the cabin, where, combined with iridium brightware, it prompts an elegant and contemporary feel.

A variety of colors are available. These are carefully coordinated to ensure a seamless look.

Bolstered sport bucket seats offer plenty of support to keep drivers and passengers comfortable during long and intense trips.

Forward-Thinking Tech

Convenience is also a clear priority. Carefully angled controls are easily accessible for drivers who desire minimal distractions. Ample data is displayed via two digital monitors.

One of these monitors offers easily configurable climate and entertainment settings. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are sadly unavailable at this point, but it’s possible to link mobile devices via Bluetooth.

When you picture a perfect sports car experience, you don’t merely think of speed or a leather interior. You imagine cruising while blasting your favorite bands on your vehicle’s easy-to-operate sound system.

The McLaren 720S offers this experience with help from its premium sound system. Bowers & Wilkins has partnered with McLaren in the past and continues to provide exceptional audio quality with the 720S.

The audio system is integrated seamlessly with the car’s engineering. This ensures audio quality is always stellar no matter the current speed or road conditions.

At a cool $285,000, it will cost you a pretty penny to experience one of the world’s sexiest vehicles. That’s just the base price. With personalization, the cost of the McLaren 720S can increase quickly. Still, enthusiasts believe the uniquely speedy car is worth the money. There’s something to be said for investing in a lightweight car that delivers both speed and control, all in a gorgeous package that contains sophisticated details both inside and out. If you demand the epitome of performance and luxury, the McLaren 720S should rest at the top of your automotive wish list.
