The Sazerac

- Spirits – Absinthe and cognac
- Mixers – Simple syrup and Peychaud’s bitters
- Garnish – Lemon peel
Here are the steps:
- Using a mixing glass, combine two ounces of cognac, 1/2 ounce of simple syrup and three dashes of bitters with ice until well-chilled.
- Rinse a chilled Old Fashioned glass with several dashes of absinthe to coat the bottom and sides of the glass.
- Strain mixture into your glass coated with absinthe and rub lemon peel on the entire rim.
- Garnish with lemon peel and serve.
